The 3rd Annual Owl-O-Ween is Atlanta’s ONLY Hot Air Balloon Festival and largest costume party. Step into the mystical world for two nights on October 23rd and 24th, for trick or treating, tethered balloon rides, Oktober Fest, and live entertainment.


The Kennesaw State University Sports + Entertainment Park is proud to host the 4th annual Owl-O-Ween Festival. With expected attendance of 50,000 people, we need volunteers to help make this event a success. If you are interested in volunteering please review the available positions and register below. Volunteer Positions

Front Of House

AmbassadorsFront of House staff will serve a variety of roles that consists of interacting with all of our festival-goers as they enter and exit the facility. These volunteers will be trained to answer questions that patrons may have before arriving and should have excellent customer service skills and a desire to intermingle with guests of all ages. Friday: 4:00 pm – 12:00 am
Saturday: 2:00 pm – 12:00 am

Balloon Wranglers

balloon-wranglersWranglers help set up and inflate the balloon with the pilot’s instruction. They help deflate and pack up the balloon (some lifting is required). Great customer service/people skills are a plus because wranglers will be responsible for answering questions from onlookers. People love to watch hot air balloons glow, and Owl-O-Ween are expected to draw 50,000 spectators! You may find yourself being asked a question or two, so don’t be afraid to smile and chat it up with onlookers. Some crew members may be involved in handing out candy. All members of the hot air balloon crew will be assigned to a specific balloon but will work together throughout the event as a team. For those individuals that have already served in this position, you are highly recommended to come back and share in this experience!

Back Of House (Varies Shifts Available)

FacilitiesBack of House staff will serve in a variety of roles as the behind-the-scenes team that works with all festival departments to set up, maintain and tear down the festival. Some may even be asked to assists with technical operations as stage managers. Helping to lift heavy items can be involved. Volunteers will set up and/or take down site signs, tent signs, banners (will use ladders and hand tools). Volunteers in this department need to be able to stand for long period of time and have great energy!
Friday shifts: 8:00 am – 4:00 pm / 4:00 pm – 12:00 am / 12:00 am – 8:00 am
Saturday shifts: 6:00 am – 2:00 pm / 2:00 pm – 12:00 am / 12:00 am – 8:00 am
